BISHOPS NYMPTON TOURNAMENT
The first running of the
Bishop’s Nympton
Double tournament
was an outstanding
success and the food
was brilliant.
There were two
sections on the four
mats with section one
playing for the Verney’s
Molton Ice Trophy and
section two playing for
the Alan Dart Trophy.
Competition was very hard fought with all teams
having five matches and no-one ended the day
undefeated.
In section 1 Winkleigh started the day with
9 - 5 win over Mutterton. A tight 6 - 4 victory
came next over Westward Ho! “B”. Christchurch
“A” brought Winkleigh’s run to a halt by 8 shots
to 5. Winkleigh’s run was brought back on
course with an 8 - 6 win over Anstey “B” and fin-
ished with a 9 - 4 victory over Shirwell.
