In the final, Ireland started off 13
well and led 4 - 0 after three
ends. A single for England was
followed with a two for Ireland and
then a two for England Two singles
then put Ireland ahead with two
ends to go.
England then scored a two to
leave them looking for three to force
an extra end or even four for victory.
However, it was not to be and an-
other two got them close but Ireland
World Triples Champions John Murnaghan, took the World Triples 8 - 7.
Patrick Hanlon, Gerry McCabe The all Welsh 3rd & 4th place
play-off started with the all Pem-
brokeshire trio of Paul Hudson, Andrew Evans & Andrew Hudson scoring an opening three.
Dale Gorman, Tom Brown & Allan Slattery immediately struck back with two stunning fours for
an 8 - 3 lead. An exchange of singles made this 9 - 4 but the Pembrokeshire trio struck with two
three and a single to lead 11 - 9.
Not to be outdone a two to Dale Gorman, Tom Brown & Allan Slattery levelled the scores
with just the last end to play. In an exciting finish Paul Hudson, Andrew Evans & Andrew Hudson
scored the vital single to give them the 3rd place.
