As graduates of the GOLD Program you’ve succeeded in the
first of many rewarding challenges that you will be afforded at
Con Edison. Continue to challenge yourself in everything you
do. You’ve already proven to yourself and others how well you
adapt to new situations and what you can accomplish in a
relatively short period of time. Make sure to share your
experiences with others; your co-workers, managers and those
you manage and supervise in order to strengthen the team
that you are a part of.
                                                                Deanne Ostrowski
Congratulations. In graduating, you have proven that you not
only have a solid technical aptitude, but solid leadership skills as
well. The GOLD program had a lot of oversight to help keep you
on track, but the ball is now in your court. What will you do with
it? I challenge you to always be the best you can be in every
situation, big or small. However your sandbox is defined in a
situation, always try to understand the perspective of others and
find win-win solutions. Practice extreme ownership and servant
leadership. Be fair, transparent, positive and consistent. Most
importantly, always remember everyone you work with is
someone’s mother, father, sister, brother, son or daughter. Treat
them with the same respect and concern that you would want
your family member to be treated with. I’m sure this isn’t the
first time you heard these words. The challenge is to have the
              discipline to live them.
              Fair winds and following seas.
