as deductions that cover expenses associated with
the employees.
If you fire an employee, you must immediately pay
that person for all time earned as well as any
accrued, unused vacation time. If the employee
quits voluntarily, these amounts must be paid
within six days of the last day of work.
Officers and certain management personnel are
considered “employers” under the Wage Act and
can be sued personally by an employee claiming a
violation.
These obligations are taken very seriously by the
courts in Massachusetts, and numerous decisions have
strictly applied these provisions even as they relate to
