Day 4
“My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.” - Hosea 4:6 (NIV)
I believe that as Christians, the more we know what we possess as citizens of the Kingdom of
the Lord, the more we will rejoice and be glad! I am becoming more aware, but there was a time
in my walk with the Lord that I would fall fast when the enemy came against me. He would bait
me and I would allow myself to become bitter, offended or angry pretty quickly. Now that I have
built myself up with the truth of the Word of God and communion with the Holy Spirit, in prayer, it
is easier for me to see His advances and counter them with the Word and worship instead of
reacting from my flesh. Knowing that “His divine power has given us everything we need for a
godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” - 2 Peter
1:3 (NIV) The Lord has given us authority over the works of the enemy of our souls! Luke 10:19
says, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the
power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” If we have power like that when we pray in the
name of Jesus, shouldn’t we rejoice? Jesus also said in John 14:13, “And I will do whatever you
ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” So ask Him! Ask the Lord for
whatever you need, as you seek His kingdom, and “...all these things will be given you.”
Matthew 6:33 (NIV) Eternal life and the authority that we have in the name of Jesus are reason
enough to be joyful!
