490. Installation and Configuration
Installation, activation, and initial configuration
Installation, activation, and initial configuration of eligible components are eligible.
These services may include: -Basic design and engineering costs if these services are
provided as an integral component of the installation of the relevant services -Basic
project management costs if these services are provided as an integral component of the
installation of the relevant services -On-site training is eligible as a part of installation
services but only if it is basic instruction on the use of eligible equipment, directly
associated with equipment installation, and is part of the contract or agreement for the
equipment. Training must occur coincidently or within a reasonable time after
installation.
Installation, activation and configuratoin does not have to be provided by the same
provider who sold the equipment.
700. Caching Service
Caching is eligible for discount under Category 2 subject to the applicant's budget
allotment. Select caching server, appliance or service if you are seeking various proposals
for caching regardless of the method (server, appliance or service) provided.
Caching services are services by a third party to download information from the Web and
store the information locally. Caching services speed up access to information that has
been retrieved previously and reduce the demand for Internet Access bandwidth by
reducing the amount of downloads processed by network users.
705. Caching Appliance
Beginning FY2015, Caching is eligible for discount under Category 2. You may select
caching server, appliance and service if you are seeking various proposals for caching
regardless of the method (server, appliance or service) provided. Caching appliances are

Caching is defined as a method that stores recently accessed information. Caching stores
information locally so that the information is accessible more quickly than if transmitted
