Begins third season with the Angels organization and first as manager of Double-A
Mobile...2018 will mark first in a managerial role...Joined the Angels in 2017 as
Infield Coordinator, a position he held for two years, after spending the previous
two years (2015-16) as the Assistant Hitting Coach for the Detroit Tigers...During
2016, worked with former Angel Cameron Maybin in a season which the outfielder
saw his batting average improve from .267 in 2015 to .315 in 2016...In first season
as Assistant Hitting Coach for the Tigers, Miguel Cabrera won the American League’s batting crown with a
.338 batting average...Prior to big league coaching stint, was the manager of the 2014 Single-A Vermont Lake
Monsters...Served as the Hitting Coach for the San Diego’s Single-A Lake Elsinore Storm from 2011-13...Played
14 seasons of professional baseball, including part of eight seasons with the Padres (1999-2000), Phillies
(2000-01), Orioles (2004-06), Mets (2007) and Astros (2008)...He and wife, Karen, reside in Vista, CA with their
two children, Nico and Gianna...Father, Ross Newhan, a former columnist for the Long Beach Press-Telegram
and Los Angeles Times, was awarded the 2000 J.T. Taylor Spink Award by the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Jack Santora begins his third season in the Angels organization and second as man-
ager of the Orem Owlz...In 2018, made his professional managerial debut and saw
Owlz finish with a 22-54 record...Spent the 2017 campaign with Single-A Burlington
as a defensive coach...Prior to coaching career, spent eight seasons (2007-13 & 2016)
playing in the Italian Baseball League for Telemarket Rimini and T&A San Marino...
Played six seasons in the minor leagues for Arizona (1999-02), San Diego (2003) and
Philadelphia (2004)...Finished the 2003 season playing independent baseball for the Newark Bears of the
Atlantic League...Was a member of the Italian National Team for the 2006, 2010 and 2013 World Baseball
Classics...Originally drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 19th round of the 1999 First-Year Player Draft
out of UCLA...Was college teammates with former Angel Troy Glaus...Prepped at Monterey High School (CA).
