STAFF CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE UPDATE

On Tuesday 6th June 2017 the SCC hosted a BHP Quiz & Curry Night for our team.

We started off the evening by enjoying a delicious curry that our kitchen team had cooked
for us and with drinks supplied we were ready to commence the quiz.

Simon Barker our General Manager transformed into the Quiz Master for the night with his
able adjudicator Katie Owlett, HR Manager at his side.

We had 4 teams enter the quiz:-

The Big Fact Hunt - F&B

Dumb & Dumbers - HR, Accounts, Revenue

Bald & Loving It - Health Club & Spa
Quizzy Rascals - Spa & Club Reception

We had seven rounds which consisted of two General Knowledge rounds - Entertainment -
Food - Ding Bats - Music - General Knowledge and a picture round

It was clear to see that everyone wanted to win this event, and there was heckling going on
around the room. I think some people thought they were playing ‘Who wants to be a
millionaire’ as I am sure illegal use of texting a friend or google search crime’s may have

been committed.
The heat intensified when the able assistant Katie announced that the scoring was very

close and that each team at that time had won at least 1 round each!

All the rounds had been completed and the quiz had drawn to a close. Everyone was
awaiting the result which could change their lives—all be it for 1 night only — but bragging
rights and prize money were up for grabs.
