Paid Parental Leave Policy
Purpose: ABC Company will provide eligible U.S. employees up to six (6) weeks of paid parental leave following the birth of an employee’s child,
or the adoption or foster care placement of a child with an employee. The purpose of this policy is to allow employees who are a new parent an
opportunity to bond with their new child.
Eligibility: Employees must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the benefits under this policy:
Must meet all of these criteria:
Be classified as 1) Year-Round Full-Time 2) Flex Year-Round or 3) Season-to-Season Full Time employee;
Have worked for the company for at least 12 months, which may either be calculated as consecutive months or Flex Year-Round employment
totaling to 12 months;
Have worked at least 1,250 hours in the 12 months immediately preceding the effective date of the paid parental leave.
Must meet one of these criteria:
Be the birth mother or father of child, as listed on the child’s birth certificate
Be a legal spouse of a woman who has given birth to a child
Be the mother or father of an adopted child who is 17 years of age or younger
Be the parental guardian of a foster child placement who is 17 years of age or younger
Application: Eligible employees will receive a maximum of six (6) weeks or 240 hours of paid parental leave for each birth, adoption or placement
event of a child/children in a twelve-month time frame measured from the date of birth, adoption, or foster care placement. The birth, adoption
or fostering of multiple children does not increase the maximum leave under this policy. For example, the adoption of twins does not result in
twelve (12) weeks or 480 hours of paid leave under this policy.
Paid parental leave under this policy is in addition to time off that may be available to an employee under state medical disability or family
bonding programs, Short Term Disability, Sick Time, Paid Time Off, or Flexible Time Off policies. Employees are required to use all paid parental
leave under this policy prior to taking unpaid leave.
This information is a summary of the Paid Parental Leave Policy. Please reference the full policy document for full details and contact your local
Human Resources department with questions.
