Burnham Benefits Response to Francis Parker School Request for
Proposal for Consultant/Broker for Health and Welfare Plans
Services
Burnham uses several resources to assist in the marketing process including the following:
In-house underwriting and financial analysis tools
Actuary services from Wakely
Predictive modeling on contributions and rate tier analysis
Industry-specific benchmarking data to compare contributions, plan design and cost
Burnham has earned its reputation through our professionalism and respect from our carrier
partners and our clients benefit as a result. Our long-term relationships provide us with leverage in
negotiating a favorable position on behalf of our customers. Our vendors know that we present an
accurate and clear picture of the risk associated with insuring each client, every time. When insurers
trust that they know the risks involved, they can give the most aggressive pricing possible, without
needing to elevate premiums in anticipation of hidden factors. Additionally, we sit on every major
carrier’s broker advisory council, so we provide input on the market as well as learn about and test
products before they reach the market.
Burnham’s senior executive team members have worked in sales and underwriting positions for
major insurance carriers. One professional previously worked in managed care contracting for
hospitals and medical groups. This inside knowledge affords our firm with deep relationships with
the health plan leadership. We understand how insurance carriers and healthcare providers think,
and how to best position risk to receive the most aggressive quotes.
Burnham is working around the calendar with Francis Parker School.
