CONVERSION OF MONEY

Rupees into paise

We know that 1 rupee = 100 paise

To convert rupees into paise, we multiply the amount in rupees by 100.

` 7 = (7 × 100) paise = 700 paise

` 12.50 = (12.50 × 100) paise = 1250 paise

Paise into rupees

To convert paise into rupees, put a point after 2 digits from the right of the

given number which denotes paise (there should always be two digits to the
right of the point which stand for paise).

The number on the left of the point indicates rupees and the number on the
right of the point indicates the paise.

1875 paise = ` 18.75 = 18 rupees 75 paise

2090 paise = ` 20.90 = 20 rupees 90 paise

25 paise = ` 0.25 (Include a ‘0’ if there is no number in the rupees part.)

7 paise = ` 0.07
