Grade 1 has been learning about narratives

Grade 1 has been learning about narratives. At first, we explored characters and settings and the way they are

described in stories. More recently, we have been reading and retelling ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ to help
understand that a narrative has a beginning, middle and end. We hope you enjoy some videos of the various ways in

which we have been retelling this classic story.

Our next step will be to practice writing ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ before planning and writing our own narratives!

                                                      Grade 2

Grade 2 have had a great term investigating how we are all storytellers. We have investigated the history of

storytelling by taking our imaginations through caves filled with ancient drawings, time travelling back to look at the

Egyptian tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and explored how we ourselves can be story tellers.

The other concept that we have been exploring is how we can tell stories in different ways. Our students have loved
sharing their favourite stories. Some of them were books, some were movies, and some were stories that have been

told to them by their family. As well as this, we have looked at how we can communicate through our body language
         and facial expression.

All of this learning is now being pulled together as our students start to practice plays and performances to share with

         their class.

                                                  Athletics Day

Prep students were very excited to show us their athletic skills and what an amazing job they did!

Everyone participated in 8 events that helped them to improve their gross motor skills, co-ordination, balance,

speed and teamwork. We as prep teachers are very proud of their efforts.

Thank you to our wonderful HPE staff, Ms Jess and Mr Liam, for helping to make it a memorable day for all. It was

great to see so many parents and friends come to support and cheer them on. It provided a vibrant atmosphere and
        we saw lots of smiles.
