BANDARANAIKE
RESEARCH
HUB
The Bandaranaike Research Hub was
established at the Bandaranaike Centre for
International Studies (BCIS), for the
preservation of the legacy of the
Bandaranaike Prime Ministers and their
contribution to Sri Lanka, the South Asian
region and the international community.
The Bandaranaike Research Hub strives to
collate all information pertaining to Hon.
S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike and Hon. Sirimavo
R. D. Bandaranaike to enable researchers
and students of International Relations to
be able to engage in deeper study and
analysis of their policies, their contribution
and presence on the national and
international spheres.
The irst of its kind in Sri Lanka, the BRH is a
collation of information pertaining to the
two Prime Ministers, including key
newspaper clippings, letters, photographs
and videos as well as bilateral and
multilateral Agreements, Joint Statements
and documents related to their periods as
Prime Ministers. It is available in English,
Sinhala and Tamil and would enable
researchers to assess a wide spectrum of
information.
This latest innovation in improving
International Relations education and
research was launched by President
Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga,
Chairperson of the S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike
National Memorial Foundation, and Ms.
Sunethra Bandaranaike on Wednesday,
02nd May 2018 at the BCIS. The keynote
