We’re excited to offer a variety of training opportunities for employees and managers. Without all of
you and your knowledge, skills, and experience, we would not be able to successfully advance our
mission of eliminating barriers to work and independence.

DevelopU is made up of several different components:

• Scholarships – funding to attend training, a conference or a seminar.
• Internal GESMN Training – courses developed specifically for GESMN, such as, Day in the Life of
Retail, Aftermarket and E-Commerce, Day in the Life of Services and Programs, Fundamentals of
Management, and Interviewing, Hiring and Onboarding.
• Leadership Tracks – a specific set of classes designed to enhance the ability of managers to
manage their employees and our business effectively.
• DevelopU Video Library

Review this catalog and talk to your manager about your development goals. Then take a class through
the online library, attend a GESMN training or go to a training, conference or seminar outside the
organization to support those goals.

SCHOLARSHIPS

A DevelopU Scholarship provides funding for attending a training, conference or seminar not offered as
part of the DevelopU Online Library. Scholarships cannot be used for degree-related courses. The
scholarship covers registration fees only and does not cover meals, travel or mileage.

WHO’S ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

• Individual Contributors
• Supervisors
• Assistant Store Managers
• Managers not enrolled in either Leadership Track 1 or 2

Applicants should discuss training options with their manager to determine if a scholarship is a right
option for them.

Applications will be reviewed and approved by Human Resources before scholarships are awarded.
Funds are limited, and preference is given to those applications with the most immediate need and
impact on Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota. Criteria for receiving a scholarship:
