Q8: The mission or purpose of the County makes me feel my job is
important.
Our overall mean was 4.05, with 76% of us answering our level of
agreement as a 4 or above, using a five-point scale, where 5 means
strongly agree and 1 means strongly disagree with that statement. We
know that Kitsap County employees are proud to give back to their local
communities.
Why is it important...
Research shows belief that one is doing something meaningful is important to a
person’s psychological and even physical health. The work that each and every one
of us does has a direct or indirect impact on making Kitsap a great place to live, work
and play. Finding more ways to make that connection between our work’s greater
purpose, its impact on Kitsap residents, and why we show up every day, is important.
Q9: My associates or fellow employees are committed to doing
quality work.
Our overall mean was 3.89, with 71% of us answering our level of agree-
ment as a 4 or above, using a five-point scale, where 5 means strongly
agree and 1 means strongly disagree with that statement.
Why is it important...
Trusting that one’s co-workers share a commitment to quality is vital to excellent
team performance. All employees need to be in an environment where there is mu-
tual trust and a respect for one another’s efforts and results. This starts with a deep
awareness of work standards and team expectations.
