Quantitative Data Analysis
                                              Simply Explained Using SPSS

               3. Median

The median is that value that separates an ordered set of data
into two equal halves, such that half of the data points fall
above it and half below it.

For example: The test scores of five students are: 33, 38, 42, 45,
                   48. The median is

                                   rd
Median is in 3 position in above set of data. Thus, the
                       median is 42.

               4. Mode

The mode is the most frequently occurring value. The data
point(s) that occur(s) most frequently. There may be no mode
or more than one mode in the set of data.

For example in the data set 33, 38, 42, 45, 48, there is no mode.

               Example:

Following are the test scores of 10 students.

               18, 21, 22, 22, 22, 23, 23, 25, 26, 30. Calculate the mean, median
and mode of the set of data.
