Tony reported on his only trip out recently from Port Hughes resulting in 14 King
George Whiting and 4 Squid.
I gave an account of my recent charter out of Mooloolaba, Queensland resulting in
40 assorted reef fish to 4KGS including , Snapper, Trevalley, Tusk fish, Bream and a
very nice Mangrove Jack. Two magnificent Whales were encountered on the return
trip so that was a bonus indeed.

PORT VICTORIA - MONDAY, 18 to FRIDAY 22 ND SEPTEMBER.
Our normal arrangements for Port Vic staying at Roley’s palatial accommodation.
There are still a few beds available so contact Spud and put your name down. A very
enticing accommodation fee of $15 per night makes 4 nights a steal at $60.
Hopefully it will have warmed up a bit by then but nonetheless there is always the
substantial fire that Gary and the boys enjoy of an evening.

WEST LAKES – GRANDKIDS DAY - TUESDAY, 10 OCTOBER
This is our annual family day during the school holidays. A chance for the grandkids
to pick up some fishing skills and for us all to try our luck and participate in a
barbeque. There are also playground facilities available at the venue which is near
the lake inlet off Trimmer Parade , West Lakes. Further details may be obtained from

PUNYELROO - FRIDAY 20 to SUNDAY 22 OCTOBER.
This is our Veterans Health week activity at the Punyelroo Caravan Park entitled
VETERANS – ON – MURRAY. It involves a real great weekend of fishing and other
physical activities in keeping with this year’s theme. It is a family friendly activity and
Members and friends are encouraged to bring their wives , grandchildren etc.
A more extensive outline of what will be available will appear in our next Newsletter
once DVA funding arrangements are clear and we have a better idea of numbers.
Please contact the Secretary at an early date should you require accommodation for
all or any of the days.
SHOW and TELL
Greg showed off his latest acquisition , a very powerful boat light and advised further
testing will be undertaken.
Sid produced various items of fishing tackle not seen before picked up during his
overseas trip . It will be interesting to see how these perform under our conditions.
