                                                             The FT behaves in the


                                                             same way a prism.



                                                             As you pass a signal into


                                                             the Fourier Transform it


                                                             separates out all the


            frequencies in the signal.



            It then puts the frequencies in bins - called


            frequency bins.
















            In general, the longer the duration of the waveform


            the greater the number of frequency bins.
