This photo shows the leaves and very small flower on
this plant which is called mistletoe. This is an example
of an epiphyte.
An epiphyte is a plant that grows harmlessly upon
another plant and derives its moisture and nutrients
from the air and rain. It has an interesting history,
there is a bird in Britain called the Mislethrush and is
one of the few birds that actually eats the white
berries produced by mistletoe.
The seeds pass through the bird and often deposited
on the branches of apple trees. Once on the branch it
then grows into a new mistletoe plant. These often
