You can see in the first photo the range of sea
conditions starting with 0 and ending with 12. A zero
on the Beaufort Scale indicates a completely flat sea
with no waves at all. This condition is very rare but it
does happen sometimes.
You can see as the Beaufort Scale increases the
description of the condition of the sea also changes
from calm for 0 on the scale right through to hurricane
for 12 on the scale.
Also note the size of the waves, for zero there are no
waves whereas for 12, the hurricane has waves that
are in excess of 14 metres. By any stretch of the
imagination, those of very high waves.
