Personal hygiene

2. Hair Care:
a. Wash the hair at least once a week using soap or mild shampoo.
Avoid shampoos with borax or alkalis. Rinse well.
b. Dry the hair after a wash.
c. Brush the hair three to four times a day with a soft bristled brush or
a wide toothed comb.
d. Wash your brush and comb every time you wash your hair.
e. Oil the scalp, once a week, preferably an hour before hair wash
f. Poor hair hygiene could cause dandruff and skin infections such as
Tinea capitis
3. Mouth Care:
Mouth care, or oral hygiene, means keeping the whole mouth-
the teeth, tongue, roof of mouth and gums clean and healthy.
The keys to good oral hygiene are
Regular dental check ups, good nutrition, and frequent brushing and
flossing,
The importance of mouth care:
a. Prevents tooth decay and bad breath.
b. Prevents mouth infections that can spread to other parts of the
body.
c. Stimulates the gums to help prevent gum disease.
d. Keeps the mouth and lips moist.
e. Makes the mouth feel clean, fresh, which can boost the appetite and
