Personal hygiene

           Introduction


                  Good personal hygiene  is   one of   the   most effective   ways to


           protect  ourselves,  and  others,  from  illness.  This  means  washing  your

           hands,  especially,  but  also  your  body.  Good  habits  can  help  control

           body odour and bad  breath.


        Hygiene:



                  Hygiene  is  the  science  of  health.  Hygienic  care  promotes

           cleanliness, provides comfort and relaxation, improves self-image, and

           promotes  healthy  skin. Commonly refers  to everyday  habits  that  keep


           the skin, hair, and nails and mouth clean.


        Importance of hygiene:


               1.  Help  in  keeping  the skin intact to fight infection and prevent


                  injuries.

               2.  Help in maintaining normal body temperature.

               3.  Remove from the skin substances in which bacteria will grow, reducing

                  the risk of infection.


               4.  Keep the mouth and gums healthy, which makes eating easier and

                  promotes good nutrition.

               5.  Make the person more comfortable, and relaxed.


               6.  Boost the person’s moral. (When he looks his best, he may feel better

                  both emotionally and physically).


        Components of personal hygiene:

            1.  Hand washing (hand care)
