It is expected that map updates will include all new or changed data since the last
release, but this cannot be guaranteed
Generally, there is no way to determine whether a new road, address, or POI, is
included on a map disc without purchasing it, installing it, and manually checking.
While you can assist customers with general questions about navigation system discs,
such as directing the customer to the Navigation Disc Center website, questions
related to disc availability or comments about disc contents should be referred to the
Navigation Disc Center via the Contact Us link on the website or by calling them
directly
Navigation System Issues
Customers may contact ICS for assistance with the navigation system’s performance
While many questions are about how to use the system (which you can address using
the navigation manual), some questions may involve system performance issues
Map Discs
Customers may contact ICS because the navigation system is not reading the map
disc properly
This may occur if the disc is not inserted in the navigation system; some navigation
systems require the disc to be in the system while in use (as the map information is
located on the disc itself), while HDD systems have an internal hard drive and only
require a one-time download of map data (at which time the disc may be removed)
Check the navigation manual or system chart to determine which system the customer
is using
Customers may also contact ICS if they receive a new disc that isn’t working correctly
If this occurs, refer to the navigation manual to ensure that the map disc was installed
correctly
When installing a disc update, customers must follow the directions in the navigation
manual precisely
If these directions are not followed, all saved data (such as addresses) may be lost.
Once the data is lost, there is no way to retrieve it; the customer will have to re-enter
the lost data
