Amsterdam to Albany

From Amsterdam the trail is again tranquil
bliss as it meanders with the Mohawk to
Schenectady. Make sure to visit Mabee
Farm Historic site (below), a perfect desti-
nation for a picnic lunch, and a must visit
gem. The farm and gardens are gorgeous.

In 17 miles you reach historic Schenectady
with abundant shopping, dining and lodg-
ing options, as well continued Early Amer-
ican History. When visiting Mabee Farms
ask about guided walking tours available
through historic Schenectady.

We recommend an overnight in Schenectady. It makes for a
short day of cycling and allows time to take in all the Capital
Region has to offer.

From Schenec-
tady, you have
only 30 miles to
go to reach the end of the amazing ECT. Lock 7 Canal Park is
simply lovely, and you have one more big WOW at Cohoes
Falls (left).
Waterford Harbor, which is across the Mohawk River from
the falls, is truly worthy of a visit with impressive Lock 2 which
replaced the original, now historic lock which is still a remark-
able thing to see. The Waterford Visitors Center offers restroom, showers, laundry and information, and
the entire area is a beautiful waterfront park.

From Waterford, Jennings Landing is approx. 11 miles, where you can drop the kickstand and revel in
the beauty of the State Capital and your accomplishment at completing your ride on the Amazing Erie
Canalway Trail!
