Online Education Loan- Vidya Lakshmi Portal
"State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur has integrated its technology platform with the Vidya Lakshmi portal. The Vidya
Lakshmi portal has been developed and is being maintained by NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited ( NSDL e-
Gov) under the guidance of Department of Financial Services in the Finance Ministry, Department of Higher Education,
Ministry of Human Resource Development and Indian Banks Association (IBA).
This will help students to submit their applications for education loan through the internet. Students may apply,
track and get feedback/ responses from the Bank through the Vidya Lakshmi Portal site. Students need to scan and
upload documents to be submitted as per the requirement of the Bank's education loan scheme. After receiving the
application, the student will be invited for personal interaction as well as further procedures for processing the
loan.
The Vidya Lakshmi Portal provides a single window for students to access information and apply for educational
loans and also learn about scholarships payable by the Government. It also has information about educational loan
schemes of all banks, enables students to email queries/ grievances relating to these loans, and links up with the
National Scholarship Portal for information on and application for government scholarship".
J&K Bank conducts Budgam DLRC
J&K Bank convened 54th District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of District Budgam at its Lead District Office.
DDC Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad chaired the meeting that reviewed the progress of financial institutions and sponsoring
agencies operating in the district for the period ending September 30, 2015. Lead District Manager Shahzad Hussain Teli
briefed the house that an amount of Rs 258.33 Cr have been disbursed by the banks in the district to 11493 units in
priority and non-priority sector during the period under review against the annual target of Rs 543.06 Cr thereby
registering an achievement of 46.56 pc of the the annual target. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLRC Mir Altaf
Ahmad directed the banks to improve their performance in the housing, education and DRI sectors.
“The performance of banks and departments is not upto the mark under government sponsored schemes” he said. He
also advised various departments to conduct selection process of candidates through District Level Task Force Committee
within the reasonable time. Under Government Sponsored Schemes (GSS) against the sponsorship of 999 cases, the banks
have granted financial assistance of Rs 9.17 Cr to 418 beneficiaries.
Under Prime Minister’s MUDRA Yojana (PMMY), 1678 units have been granted financial assistance to the tune of Rs
29.52 Cr under SHISHU, KISHORE and TARUN Category. The other fields like opening of PMJDY Accounts, Social Security
Schemes and financial literacy camps were also discussed in the meeting.
Present at the meeting were ADC Dr Zahoor Ahmad, S P Soni (RBI), CPO Budgam Ghulam Nabi Rather, DDM NABARD
Zubair Wasil, Cluster Head J&K Bank Budgam Mohammed Shafi, other bank coordinators, sectional heads of line
departments and other officials of the district administration. LDM Budgam presented the vote of thanks.
SBBJ DONATES FOR CHENNAI FLOOD VICTIMS
To respond to the call of the nation to help the flood affected people of Chennai , the staff of SBBJ has decided to donate
one day's salary amounting to more than Rs.2 Crore through Prime Minister's Relief Fund.
Sh. S.Venkataraman , the acting Managing Director advised that the Management of the Bank, General Secretaries of
the Officers Association (ABOA) and Employees Union (AIBEA) had jointly organized this donation.
