Animal Identification Registration and Traceability (AIRT)
SAPPO has 2 projects currently running: -
1. Engaging with both farmers and DALRRD to ensure all farmers have
current valid Animal Identification Certificates.
2. A pilot project testing SAPPO’s shipping APP which will allow farmers to
enter information about loads of pigs going to an abattoir; the
information will be submitted to the abattoir who will then be able to
“accept” the shipment when it arrives; after slaughtering the slaughter
data will be electronic stored, securely, n the SAPPO members data
vault for them to download.
