China
                   The  China Pork  questionnaire  was under  review  by  the Chinese
                   authorities and feedback from China was awaited.

                   India
                   India  accepted the change from “zone  free ASF”  to  “compartment
                   unit”.

                   Residue
                   A number of residue monitoring programmes were currently conducted
                   in South Africa. Unfortunately VPH was slow in making reports available.
                   Dr Kudawashe  undertook  to request assistance  from  the  industry if
                   necessary  to compile such reports.    Dr  Evans was in  the  process  of
                   engaging with RMAA  to develop  further  cooperation on gathering of
                   residue information.

                   There was a strong likelihood that two to three countries would open up
                   for exports in the next 12 months.

                   PEWG
                   -  PEWG meeting was scheduled for 10 March.
                   -  A progress report on all visits to the various countries will be tabled.
                   -  The department was cautious in inviting countries to visit South Africa
                      given an active disease (FMD) outbreak.

                   DAFF
                   DAFF advertised four vacant positions in the department.

                   Dr Maja granted approval for the industry to contract Dr Nadia de Beer
                   to deal with the export questoinnaires at DAFF.

                   8.1  Financial Reports


                   The meeting noted  that  Board members  had approved  the financial
                   report as presented in the board pack.

                   Audit Committee Minutes
                   The Board took note of the draft minutes of the Audit Committee.

                   Audit Committee Mandate
                   The Board took note of the Audit Committee’s Mandate.
