Data Platform
The meeting noted that SAPPO was currently using only pork-related
data for producers to use. SAPPO has approached SARS to get all the
data for beef, chicken, mutton, etc. for comparison purposes. SAFA,
AMIE and SAPPO will participate in the first phase of the platform to share
information. There is no risk to the security of the data.
Attention was given to new dashboards for use to the benefit of the
farmer.
BDM App
The BDM App is available on a cellphone. A specific procedure must be
followed when the BDMs get to a farm. Information of more than 400
small-scale farmers has already been recorded.
Microsoft, Azure, ISO and FFC (IT World) were used to protect the data as
far as possible.
Corporate Governance
The meeting noted that corporate governance was attending to cost-
efficiency, governance finances, policies, procedures, Human
Resources, the SAPPO brand, image and culture.
