6) WOVEN SACKS
To determine Denier of HDPE TAPE
Denier = Width of tape in mms x thickness of tape in gauge x [81/40]
OR
Denier = Width of tape in mms x thickness of tape in microns x 8.1
(Note: Reference 1 micron = 4 gauge or 25 micron = 100 gauge etc.)
Example: To find out thickness of tapes in gauge of 1000 denier and 3mm and
4mm wide tapes using above formula.
For 3mm wide tape, 1000 = 3 x thickness in gauge x [81/40]
Thickness in gauge =1000 x 40 /3 x 81= 164.6 i.e. 165 gauge = 165 gauge
For 4 mm side tape gauge = 1000 x 40 / 4 x 81 = 123.45 i.e. 125 gauge = 125
gauge.
So 3mm Wide - 165 gauge or 4mm wide - 125 gauges Tape is equivalent to 1000
denier
7) BOX STRAPPING
To determine weight in grams of 100 meters length of Box strapping
W = Width in mms, T = Thickness of mms
High Density Polyethylene Box Strapping W x T x 95.5
Polypropylene Box Strapping W x T x 95.5
FLEXIBLE INTERMEDIATE BULK CONTAINER (FIBC)
Bulk loaded containers are those, which consists of more than 20 MT of product.
Intermediate Bulk Containers consists of capacity ranging between 500 kgs to 2 ton
capacity. Flexible intermediate containers are those which are made of flexible
material i.e. Polypropylene.
The type of FIBC varies depending upon: Material to be filled, Its bulk density ,
Whether it is single trip / multi trip, Whether repeatedly usable
Advantages:
1) Low cost of material handling: jute bags is Rs 75 / M.T. Vs. PP FIBC is only Rs 10/ M.T.
2) Easy filling and discharge: For 1 ton of product, PP FIBC the filling is done only once.
3) Savings in loading / unloading time due to ease of handling.
4) Low weight packing : jute bags 5-7 kgs Vs. PP FIBC's about 2.5-3 kg of pckg. material
5) Transportation of empty FIBC is cheap and space saving
6) UV stabilized PP FIBC lasts for 2 years in open storage Vs. jute bag only for 6 months.
7) Self supporting PP FIBC's are designed in a manner, that no pallets are required.
8) Good chemical and organic resistance PP FIBC's are organic resistant.
9) Eco friendly, since product is recyclable
End Uses:
1) Agro Products Rice, tea, coffee, 2) Chemicals Pigments, dyestuffs, oxides
3) Detergents Soda ash, caustic soda, 4) Food flour, sugar, milk powder,
5) Fertilizers - Urea, ureic resin 6) Plastic & Resins Polymers Packaging
7) Minerals - Barytes, bentonite, alumina hydrates, 8. Petrochemicals PTA, DMT,
PVC 9) Pulp / Paper, Waste Paper, Wood Chips 10) Rubber Chemical
