Ismail A. Abdelhamid was born in Egypt in December
1978. He graduated from Cairo University, Egypt in 2001
then he got his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in 2005 and 2007,
respectively, at Cairo University in the field of organic
synthesis. In 2017 he was appointed as a full Professor of
Organic chemistry at Cairo University. He was awarded
the Alexander von Humboldt research fellowship in
2008–2011 and in 2014, 2017, and 2019 with Prof. Holger

Butenschön, at Hannover University, Germany. He
received several research prizes; Cairo University
Prof. Ismail Incentive Award (2012), Cairo University Scientific
Abdelshafy Excellence Award (2016) and State Incentive Award

Abdelhamid (2019). He had published more than 100 paper in the field
of Organic Synthesis.
