OUR CURRENT SITUATION
The Ambisyon Natin 2040, The Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022 and the Regional Development
Plan (RDP) 2017-2022
IFSU, as state university, is committed to directly contribute to the government’s long-term
goals for the country and the people hence it seriously supports the Ambisyon Natin 2040 which
represents the vision and aspirations of the Filipino people for a matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na
buhay (strongly-rooted, comfortable, and secure life) by 2040. Along with it is its strong commitment to
the PDP 2017-2022 which is a medium-term development goal of the Duterte Administration which is to
“lay-down the foundation for inclusive growth, a high-trust and resilient society, and a
globally-competitive knowledge economy”. Under its three pillars of strategy: (1) “Malasakit” or
enhancing the social fabric; (2) “Pagbabago” or reducing inequality; and (3) “Patuloy na Pag-unlad” or
increasing growth potential, IFSU, as part of the education sector, is directly contributing to “Pagbabago”
or reducing inequality, although it may still contribute to the other two strategies.
The RDP, which is anchored on the Ambisyon Natin 2040 and the PDP 2017-2022, revolves on
these areas: (1) regional integration; (2) regional autonomy; (3) environmental quality and sustainable
use of resources; (4) sustained economic growth; (5) social and human development; and (6) cultural
integrity and identity.
Therefore, to create greater impact to the development goal of the country and the region, IFSU
shall work for the following organizational outcomes under the pillar “Pagbabago”:
Relevant and quality tertiary education ensured to achieve inclusive growth and access to deserving
but poor students to quality education increased;
Higher education research improved to promote economic productivity and innovation; and
Community engagement increased.

governance. Hence, the University recognizes its important role specifically in the preservation and
enhancement of positive Ifugao customs and practices for cultural identity, and in the attainment of
provincial and municipal plans in accordance to the mandate of the University and in the achievement of
its organizational outcomes.
