OUR DIRECTION
Where do we want to go?
The vision of the University was crafted through a participatory visioning activity after the data
and information on the internal and external environment of the University were presented, with
consideration of the existing vision: “IFSU for Academic Centers of Excellence”, the University
President’s vision for the University, the University Mandate, and the inputs from stakeholders and
partners. At the end, the vision of the University was updated and is expected to be realized by 2026.
Vision 2026
“A globally-recognized University upholding excellence
amidst rich cultural heritage”
The Ifugao State University envisions to be a globally recognized university sustaining an
environment of excellence amidst a rich cultural heritage. Guided by its mandate and the core values, it
endeavors to knowledge formation, excellent service to people and society. The University views its
constituents—the students and their families, the communities, the faculty and staff, and other
stakeholders, living in the reputation of a globally recognized university being actively responsive to the
challenges brought about by globalization and internationalization. With the ASEAN integration, doors of
opportunities abroad for global and international learning experiences, professional advancement, and
employment shall be opened and explored for the IFSU constituents to enjoy.
Along with the global recognition it aspires for its constituents, the IFSU also views every
constituent enjoying their rich cultural heritage in the University’s local environment where the UNESCO
world heritage sites are. Being global and local, constituents are expected to display excellence in all
areas of their professional and personal lives.
Consistent with the expected outcomes set for state universities and colleges in the country in
support to the Philippine Development Plan 2016-2022 and the Ambisyon Natin 2040, excellence is
attained through the University operations with its programs on Higher Education, Advanced Education,
Research, and Extension. Hence the following outcomes:
Higher Education Program: Inclusive growth and access to quality tertiary education,
Advanced Education Program: Promotion of economic productivity and innovation,
Research Program: Promotion of economic productivity and innovation, and
Extension Program: Increased community engagement.
Achieving the long-term vision of being global and local upholding a culture of excellence, the
quality of the programs of the University in higher education, advanced education, research and
extension are continuously ensured. This results to a yearly improvement in the performance of
graduates in licensure examination, more and more graduates being employed, more faculty members
and students are engaged in research producing technologies which are being used by and extended to
communities and industries or organizations.
