4.1 NOTIFICATION
1. If applicator is notified of insufficient weather protection, he shall
immediately restore the weather protection.
4.2 FIRE PROTECTION
1. Contractor shall, at cost to himself, provide all necessary temporary fire
protection for the building, building contents and materials during
applications. At no time shall any combustibles be stored inside the
building. All adhesives, caulks and cleaning solvents shall be stored well
away from the building in a method approved by local fire officials. Should
any torch cutting, burning or welding be necessary. At no time shall open
flames be present around adhesives, caulks or cleaning solvents, as they
will readily ignite.
2. Rags soaked with cleansing solvent shall not be discarded in the
dumpsters. Contractor shall be required to comply with published rules for
disposing of solvent soaked rags.
5.0 MANUFACTURER’S INFORMATION
1. The manufacturer of all primers, sealants, coatings and solvent bearing
materials shall supply written instructions concerning the storage and
handling of all supplied materials and accessories. The manufacturer shall
also provide information concerning storage and handling of flammable or
volatile materials, such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The
“shelf-life” of materials shall be provided with the date of manufacture of all
perishables, including volatiles, caulking and mastics. Applicator shall
supply a copy of all MSDS and manufacturer’s written instructions to JWC
upon request.
