In short, the Oxygen being produced by living
      plants gets consumed by decomposing, dead
      and burning plants.


      So, many atmospheric scientists don't see the

      Amazon,  Earth's  rainforests,  or  even  Earth's
      forests as net oxygen producers, at least in any

      appreciable sense.

                                                               THE BURNING rAINFOREST OF
      Earth's  excess  oxygen  mostly  comes  from
      marine  algae  which  bloom  in  the  oceans,
                                                                                    AMAZON
      consume  the  nutrients  that  are  in  the  water
      and  suck  in  carbon  dioxide  from  the

      atmosphere.
