Police Presence
Question Shopper 1
1 Section/Location: Scalpers near Pride Plaza Gate B Time: 10:28AM
Mr. & Mrs. Shopper was approached by a scalper looking for tickets. He was not selling tickets when they talked to him.
2 Section/Location: Scalpers near Gate A Time: 10:52AM
Mr. Shopper talked with a scalper near the parking structure outside Gate A. He was selling tickets in the upper bowl section 331 for $100 a piece. When Mr.
Shopper declined, he dropped the price to $60 each. Mr. Shopper said no thanks and walked away.
3 Section/Location: Overall Police Presence Time: Pre, during, Post
Mr. & Mrs. Shopper were impressed with the level of police presence at the game. They observed state troopers, Detroit officers, police dogs and EMT outside in
Pride Plaza. They saw Detroit officers and EMT inside Ford Field. And after the game there were plenty of officers and troopers directing fans and traffic.
4 Section/Location: Lot 5 Exit Time: 4:28PM to 5:05PM
Mr. & Mrs. Shopper were parked in the first row right in front of the gate and had to wait over 30 minutes to exit Lot 5. They were the forth car out of the lot.
No one was directing traffic until they got to the Fisher which may have contributed to the congestion as there was a garage exit across from lot 5 exit. Cars
exiting the other lot were trying to move over to exit onto Fisher.
5 Section/Location: Brush Street North of Fisher Time: 5:05PM
Once Mr. & Mrs. Fisher made it to Brush Street, traffic moved quicker largely due to the many state troopers directing traffic. They observed 4 officers working
together to pull over a driver who ignored a state troopers directions. In 7 minutes they had made it to Mack and there were 6 officers directing traffic between
Brush and I-75 and it took 20 minutes to get from Brush to I-75. In total it took just over an hour and 10 minutes to get from lot 5 to I-75 northbound at Mack.
Shopper 2
1 Section/Location: Throughout the Stadium
There was more police presence inside the stadium than expected, that definitely made you feel safe.
2 Section/Location: Outside the Stadium Time: 4:40PM
After the game there was not enough police presence to direct traffic once you got more than a block from Ford Field. We were parked in the Campus Marcus
lot.
3 Section/Location: Outside the Stadium Time: 11:40AM/4:40PM
We did not notice any scalpers outside of the stadium but there were a few transient people begging, not sure if this would be something to address.
