TRIP PREPERATION
TRIP PREPERATION
As mate there are many responsibilities that are required of you in order for each trip
to run safely and smoothly.
The next two pages will go over everything that is expected of you before, during
and after each trip as well as the end of the day.
Arrival
It is recommended you arrive at least 1 hour before your fist trip during normal days and 1- ½ hours early
during spring months when wetsuits are in use in order to prepare the boat for your trip and help out with
fins and wetsuits. It is important to stay in communication each day with the captain to determine if the
boat needs to be pumped out or fueled up in the morning. If so, you may need to arrive even earlier.
Boat Preperation Before Each Trip Of The Day
• Ice, Water and Sodas
• Bathroom cleaned and stocked with toilet paper and napkins
• Trash bag in trash can
• Deck is cleaned and washed o
• Seats are squeegee and free of water
• Water tank lled up depending on boat running on
• Masks are sanitized with water/ bleach solution and enough for the people on your trip
• Lines and anchors are ready
• Ramp is on and gate is closed
Before Departure
Before Departing the Slip you will need to remove ramp and close the gate latches as well as make sure
all lines are free before giving the all clear to the captain. While the boat is pulling out of the slip make sure
everyone is seated and their arms are inside the boat. If you haven’t already done so then at this time you
will hand out snorkel and mask if necessary and for dolphin sunset and fireworks cruises you will offer and
hand out drinks.
