TRIP PREPERATION
TRIP PREPERATION
While Underway
While underway, at all times make sure no one is standing on the seats or sitting on the rails as well as no
one is wearing their fins on the boat. Remember safety first! Make it a goal to introduce yourself and talk to
each family that is on your trip. Remember your there to assist and help customers with anything as well as
make sure they have an enjoyable experience! When looking for dolphins you will need to help in assisting
the captain in locating them and spotting them for the customers whenever they resurface. Depending on
the captain and when feasible you may or may not need to do a dolphin speech. It is good to prepare and
brush up on your dolphin facts so you will be ready answer questions that customers may have about them.
(See Dolphin Speech Page)
Arriving at the dock
Before arriving at the dock and after departing the last spot (Snorkel or Shelling) take up the snorkel and
masks and if the captain hasn’t already done so take the fins up as well. Upon arriving at the boat slip, be
ready at the front of the boat to grab the lines. While pulling in the slip, make sure everyone stays seated
and all arms are inside the boat. Upon arriving at the dock grab the spring line first then attach both bow
lines. Once the boat is secured pull the ramp on and thank everyone for coming as they depart.
