Tests and Testing Procedures per IEC/EN Standards (continued) 14

           Material Tests

All WAGO products meet requirements for the following material tests:

          • Needle Flame Test to IEC/EN 60947-1
This test simulates flames that may arise under certain conditions (e.g, fault current over a creepage distance, overloading parts
or components). Nearby parts can also be affected by such flames. Not only is the ignition of the test specimen resulting from an
intrinsic defect tested, but also its behavior when other parts are ignited.

Flames shall not be further fed by the insulation materials used,
Terminal block creating a larger fire. The test specimen is exposed to a stan-

After the test flame has been removed, the specimen must self-

          • Glow-Wire Test to IEC/EN 60998-1, IEC/EN 60695-2-11
In the event of failure, a high current may cause a conductor to glow.
