You will also be given a radio at the beginning of the season. Should you encounter a problem with your
radio, give it to your department Manager with a detailed description of what is going on. It will be your
responsibility to replace your radio if it is lost or stolen.
RADIO USE
Your radio should be worn clipped to your hip.
Monitor ALL radio communications even if you are not involved in the conversation.
Be brief and to the point when communicating on the radio. Leave the airwaves clear for
emergencies. If you need to speak to someone at length, meet up with them.
In the event of an emergency, say “break” between conversations to let those people know that
you need to talk.
When recharging your radio, make sure that your radio is turned OFF and that the charge light
comes on each time you place the radio on its charger.
You are responsible for leaving your radio with department Manager if you are having technical
difficulties or any other problem with your radio with a detailed description of the problem.
You are financially responsible for your radio if it is lost or stolen.
