DOWNHOLE SURVEY SYSTEM
The Downhole Survey System is designed to monitor
and map the internal wall of drilled pile hole to identify
any anomalies such as washouts or collapses.
Information gathered will be transmitted to provided
equipment and software on the surface for further
processing.
The Downhole Survey system consists of a probe containing high
resolution sonar, gyro compass, depth transducer and a video camera, a
cable winch, and a topside control unit. Provided software processes the
data in real time and produces 3D point clouds representing the internal Topside Controller
profile of the hole.
The sonar output will consist of a horizontal sectional slice taken through
the hole at nominal increments. The gyro compass will provide orientation
of the sonar display relative to a nominal magnetic North. The video will be
used to further inspect areas of interest identified by the sonar. Depth of
the scan data is recorded by either high precision pressure transducer or
rotation sheave encoder assembly.
The probe is lowered into the pile hole by the winch via the internal bore of
the drill string and drilling caisson.
