RISER PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
The riser pressure monitoring system is used to monitor
pressure on a riser section and display the readings
locally on the digital display for visual monitoring. It
consists of an acoustic transponder that will send
wireless transmission of data to topside or ROV.
The monitoring system comprises of the surface equipment, mounting
and subsea equipment. The surface equipment is responsible for
communication with the subsea modem, receiving, displaying and
recording data from the subsea equipment. It is also to send operational
commands to the subsea equipment.
The mounting equipment is used to mount the portable equipment to
the riser and to provide a hydraulic connection between the riser and the
pressure transducers mounted on the portable equipment. This mounting
equipment can be modified to meet client specifications.
The portable subsea equipment consists of lithium-ion battery, acoustic
transponder, visual display unit, pressure transducers, and various
controller boards. The equipment has smart power saving modes that can
preserve the battery life to up to 3 weeks of usage.
