SUBSEA INCLINOMETER
The subsea digital inclinometer is an ROV mounted
tool used to measure the inclination of structures
installed or being installed in relation to the sea bed.
It features an accuracy of 0.2 degrees over full 360
degrees range and provides transmission of data via
provided communications bottle.
The system consists of a flexible mounting arm with upper and lower
structures that guides the inclinometer onto the cylindrical subsea structure
and aligns it.
Latching Tool
The function of this system is to provide pitch and roll measurements by
transmitting the acquired data to the computer via the communications
bottle. The attachment assembly is fitted to the front of ROV, where the
ROV manoeuvers against piles at specific depths and orientation. Electrical
data from the communications bottle are connected to the ROV control
system, which is transmitted to topside. A computer with supplied software
is connected to the communications bottle and hence will interpret the data
to be displayed on the screen. Acquired data can be stored locally on the
computer.
