In John 4, we see how JESUS handled such diversity. This

is the familiar story of the “woman at the well.” When
HE talked with the Samaritan woman, HE was not “color
blind.” HE was keenly aware of her ethnicity, as she was

of HIS. HE was aware of the animosity and history
between HIS people and her people. He was a Jew. She

was a Samaritan. Jews had no dealings with Samaritans.
Further complicating the encounter were the gender

differences. JESUS did not act like HIS physical humanity
would have otherwise demanded. HE transcended HIS

humanity to reach across cultural barriers. HE acted in
accordance with who GOD declared HE is - The

MESSIAH. HE was radically counterculture in order to
reconcile the woman with GOD. Interestingly, but true

to HIS HOLY purpose, the woman was set free of her
bondage and also reconciled with her neighbors who
previously ostracized her. The reconciliation was

            complete.

We know exactly what needs to be done to advance the
Gospel and fulfill the Great Commission. The question is,

            Will we do it?
