Matthew 28:19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the Name of the FATHER and
the SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT.
The Basics
Let us begin with the basics. GOD has called the Church
into leadership. We are to influence culture in
accordance with HIS Kingdom Agenda, which we will
discuss later in this chapter. That requires us to step out
of our comfort zones, beyond the walls of our physical
church edifices, beyond religion and engage the world,
not as followers, not as participants, but as leaders.
So, what is leadership? We all understand leadership as
the art of motivating a person or group of people to take
steps towards achieving a specific goal. Leadership
techniques and principles can be taught, but the success
of implementation is also a function of a leaders’
disposition, and world view. This is an important aspect
because the type of leadership that GOD calls Christians
to, while similar, requires us to subjugate our own
dispositions and world views under the LORDSHIP of
JESUS CHRST.
