Prophesies fulfilled: 1945-1950, continued
[Zech. 12:1-7] Israel to be restored without Jerusalem
[Zech. 14:1-3] Jerusalem will be divided
[Zep. 2:8,Zech. 12:1-7] Jordan will occupy the West Bank
[Jer.31:23, Zep. 3:9] Hebrew will be Israel’s language.
[Zech. 12:1-7, Zech. 14:1-3, Zep. 2:8] The result of this
war followed according to prophecy. Specifically,
Jerusalem was not initially a part of Israel (Zech. 12:1-7)
just as Zechariah 12:7 foretold, “The Lord will save the
tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of
David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall
not become greater than that of Judah.” Jerusalem was
divided; it fell under the control of Jordan (Zech. 14-1-3).
Jordan occupied the West Bank (Zep. 2:8, Zech. 12:1-7).
[Jer.31:23, Zep. 3:9] The newly reborn nation of Israel
survived this war. Through many miraculous occurrences
Jewish forces were handed victory after victory.
Disbelieving Jews, who had been scarred by their
sufferings throughout the ages, now had much cause to
dispel their doubts. Also as prophesied, “They shall
again use this speech in the land of Judah and in its
cities, when I bring back their captivity”. GOD
orchestrated the revival of spoken Hebrew through
Eliezer Yitzhak Perlman, who was born in 1858 to an
Orthodox Jewish family in Lithuania.
