Carrollton’s school motto is Caritas Vincit Omnia, Love
Conquers All. Service is one of the ways that we can express
our love for others. Sacred Heart Goals embody the vision of
Saint Madeline Sophie. She hoped that through the education
af women, society might be transformed. The Third Goal of the
Sacred Heart hopes to educate students to a “social awareness
which impels to action.” Students’ world views are challenged
daily through classroom discussions and service opportuni­
ties. Through service, students come face-to- face with a very
different reality. Students volunteer at a variety of sites
including Camillus house, Sisters of Charity and Barnyard.
Younger students, unable to participate in hands-on service,
participate in food and toy drives. It is the responsibility of
every Carrollton student to take it upon herself to make a
difference, no matter how big or small her contribution may
be. We are all inspired every day to do our part and give back
to our community. It is through service that we can do a little
:o make a big difference in the lives of so many. At Carrollton
here are many service clubs which involve going out into the
community to help others. It gives students a wonderful
diance to meet new people and bond together as a club. The
smallest thing, whether it be a hug or a smile, can actually
make a great deal of difference in someone else’s life.
