Brain Stress Answers
1. When someone experiences a stressor, either a) They have
the skills to manage the stressor and find ways to solve it
or b) Their body goes into stress response e.g. fight, flight,
find or c) They subconsciously fill their need in any way
possible – helpful or not.
2. Some children have enjoyed lots of positive
experiences. This means the levels of stress hormones in
their body are very low. This then means that when
stressors come their way, they have more capacity and can
manage them more easily. They have greater resilience.
3. Other children aren’t so lucky. The levels of stress
hormones in their body are very high. This means that
when stressors come their way, they have less capacity and
cannot manage them so easily. They are more vulnerable.
