Corruption of Bribery
Chapter 6 : Corruption in the “Carbon World”
Dr.Pachauri, Chairman of the IPCC also rushed to the defence of the scientists and stated that "…..those who
have unfortunately been victims of this terrible and illegal act are outstanding scientists”
Gordon Brown said that there is no doubt about the scientific evidence that underpins the Copenhagen
conference "it's of landmark importance that cannot be washed away by the theft of a few e‐mails from one
university research centre". .
The alleged “theft”, "hacking" or “crime” was reported to the UK Information Commissioner and
to the Norfolk Police (referred to by cynics as “The Sweedy”) who brought in a high‐powered
team including members of the UK’s National Domestic Extremism Unit. In addition, over the
63
following months at least three internal or semi‐internal enquiries were conducted which,
unsurprisingly, cleared the University of malpractice.
One enquiry directed by Sir Muir Russell, a former civil servant and Principal Vice Chancellor of the University of
Glasgow, “found (in the UEA) a consistent pattern of failing to display the proper degree of openness" although
he said he had no reason to doubt the CRU’s honesty or integrity. This conclusion would have not been supported
by the majority of people who had bothered to read the files.
In January 2010, the Information Commissioner reported that the University had breached the Freedom of
Information Act by refusing to produce or destroying data and claimed that he would have instituted criminal
proceedings had the offences had not run out of time.
The police investigation also fizzled out with a vague conclusion that the disclosure had been
made by an internal “whistle‐blower” rather than a hacker. This is almost certainly the case,
making all of the chest beating about “hacking”, “theft” and “crime” at best premature although
consistent with the believers’ tactic of attacking everything – even when there is no evidence‐
that questions the “global warming” case.
The name Albert Arnold Gore, Jr has to be mentioned here, because his film and book “An
Inconvenient Truth (AIT)” has been influential in the “global warming” debate. But consistent
with the rest of this book – that takes the position that it is generally best to keep as far away
from political creatures as possible and never to encourage them – readers are simply referred to

Appendix xx and the excellent statement by Professor Robert Merlin Carter – in the August
2007 UK High Court case of Dimmock v The Secretary of State for Education and Skills which
resulted in the gross overegging in AIT being exposed for what it was.
8.3 Average Global Temperature and Changes Thereto
65
The “global warming” narrative rests on the “science” that an average global temperature is
higher today than in the past; that it has risen by between 0.2C and 0.6C in the past 100 years but
based on the IPCC’s worst case scenario is likely to rise by as much as 6C by the end of the
63 Much like asking Homer Simpson to investigate doughnut thefts
64 What a great name for a scientist
65 Different agencies as well as the IPCC calculate averages differently: there is not just one
