So the bottom line is that current temperatures are not at an all‐time high (having not risen at all
since 1998 or since 1979 based on satellite records) and when they were at their highest,
industrialisation had not even started.

8.4 The Atmosphere and GHG
The atmosphere of the Earth consists of layers of gases, retained by gravity, protecting life by
absorbing inbound ultraviolet solar radiation, warming the surface through heat retention and
reducing temperature variations between day and night. If it were not for the warming effect of
the atmosphere the earth would be 30c lower than it is. Everyone knows that water vapour in
clouds acts as a blanket and that is why on clear nights, temperatures fall so dramatically.

Climatologists have, so far, been unable to establish to what extent, if any, increased or decreased carbon dioxide
concentrations influence cloud formation. This is a key equation.

The atmosphere consists of the following layers:

Ozone in this layer and absorbs UV radiation
from the Sun
Jet streams
Tropopause 17 Transition layer. Little or no change in
temperature above 12kms. This is the layer
in which carbon dioxide is said to
accumulate thus causing “global warming”
