               Table 4: Atmospheric Layers

The atmosphere is composed of the following gases

                    nitrogen 78%
                    oxygen 21%
                    Argon 1%
 carbon dioxide 0.39% (a colourless, odourless gas which is vital for plant growth)
                    other gases

The problem with percentages especially in the field of climatology is that they do not give a clear
picture. The figures, based on specific returns made to the UNFCCC of anthropogenic emissions,
                                                  70
suggest the following annual position :

                                                                           71
 total global emissions of carbon dioxide from all sources 910,103,222,534 Mt
 anthropogenic global emissions (4% of total) 36,404,128,902 Mt

                                                                                               72
There is estimated to be 2,800,000,000,000Mt of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere
Water vapour varies between 1% to 4% at the Earth’s surface and is approximately 0.4% over the
full atmosphere (10 times CO2). Oxygen levels reached their present lever of 21% around 25 million
years ago and have remained fairly constant.

The bottom line of the global warming theory is that carbon dioxide concentrations in the
thermosphere and thermopause are responsible for global warming and that the increases are
manmade. If this is the case, bearing in mind that carbon dioxide concentrations even out all over
the planet, why is there a variation in temperature changes between the Northern and Southern
               hemispheres?

               8.5 Carbon Measurement
The Earth maintains a carbon balance which if unperturbed would result – over time ‐ in all
carbon dioxide emissions being absorbed into "sinks".

70 But other official agencies show figures that vary by as much as 30%
71 These figures to not match official GHG inventory amounts but are believed to be correct
